This building was built in 1913. Mitsukaido Town became a city in 1954, so the building became to be called Mitsukaido City Office.
A new city office building was completed in 1960, and the city office moved.
The building was renovated as a memorial hall since 1984.
In 2006, Mitsukaido City was merged with Ishige Town to become Joso City.
