This building was built in 1928. It was used as a police office until 1971, and was used as a Hamamatsu City Social Welfare Hall after the police station relocated.
In 2001, the watchtower was demolished because it was not safe in terms of earthquake resistance.
Currently used as Kamoe Art Center.
