This school building was built in 1937. The land, school buildings, and facilities were donated by Furukawa Tetsujiro, a businessman originally from Toyosato Village .
In 1999, the town mayor announced plans to demolish the school building and construct a new one, but opposition arose and it was decided to preserve. The building had been used as a school until 2004.
Now it is used as town administrative facility and library.
