This church building was built in 1918.
It was designated as a national important cultural property in 2008.
In 2018, "Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region" was registered as a World Heritage Site. "Egami Village on Naru Island", where the Egami Catholic Church is located, is one of the constituent assets.
