Bagcha Darvoza (The North Gate of Itchan Kala) [Itchan Kala, Khiva] (Khiva, Khorazm Region)



Khiva is a city in the northwestern part of Uzbekistan. There is a citadel in the city. "Itchan kala" is an urban area surrounded by a castle. (The outside of the fortress is Dishan Kala.) Itckan Kala of Hiva is surrounded by fortress 7 or 8m hight, and the area is 450m east to west, 650m north to south. There are gates on every side. This Bugcha Darvoaa is the north gate of the fortress. It was built in the 19th century.
