Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Baluarte (Island of Mozambique)

Portugal built a harbor and naval hub on the Island of Mozambique in 1507. The island became a trading hub on the Indian route.
In 1522, the chapel of Nosa Senora de Balarte was built. This chapel is considered to be the oldest existing European architecture in the Southern Hemisphere.
