Former the National Palace (Port-au-Prince)

The presidential palace was competing for a design in 1912 and adopted the plan of Haitian architect Georges Baussan. The construction began in 1914.
However, in 1915 the United States occupied Haiti and laid military control. The construction was continued under the American occupation and was completed in 1920. The United States withdrew from Haiti in 1934.
In the Haiti earthquake on January 12, 2010, the palace was severely damaged. The restoration was also considered, but was dismantled and removed in 2012.
