In 1934, Kitami Mint Factory of Hokuren was constructed. "Hokuren" is an abbreviation for ”Hokkaido Credit Purchasing and Sales Union Association”.
This building was the office building of the factory that was built in 1935.
The factory was closed in 1983, some buildings were donated to Kitami City. Then this former office has been used as Kitami Mint Memorial Museum.
