The Yomikaki Power Station is a hydroelectric power station built in 1923 on the Kiso-gawa River. It was built by Daido Electric Power Company.
Daido Electric Power was dissolved in 1939, and the power station is now managed by Kansai Electric Power Co.
In 1960, an underground power plant was added, and together with the aboveground power plant, it now generates a total of 119,000 kilowatts.
The building was designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 1994.
