This building was built in 1943 as Misato Village Office.
In 1956, Misato Village merged with the other villages and became Hayakawa Town. So this building was renamed Misato Branch of Hayakawa Town Office.
It has been used as a local museum since 1985.
And it was registered as a national tangible cultural property in 2014.
