Former Fukura Lighthouse (Shika Town)

Bonfires have been lit for ships in this area since the Edo period. This wooden lighthouse was built by Kichisaburo Hino in 1876.
It was managed by the Hino family until 1910, when it was turned into a village enterprise.
A new lighthouse was built in 1952, thus ending its service.
In 1965, it was designated as a historical site by Ishikawa Prefecture.
