Former the Water Pump House of Koi Distributing Reservoir (Hiroshima City)

In 1929, seven towns and villages were incorporated into Hiroshima City, necessitating an increase in water supply capacity.
Between 1930 and 1935, the third phase of expansion work on the Hiroshima City water supply system was carried out.
This facility was constructed to supply water to the Koi and Kusatsu areas in western Hiroshima City. The pump room was completed in 1932, and in 1935, a distributing reservoir was built on the hill above the pump room. The water was pumped into this reservoir.
This building was located 2.3 km from the hypocenter of the Hiroshima atomic bomb in 1945 and is currently listed as a bombed building.
The facility is no longer in operation.
