This building was built as Wakamatsu Branch of Furukawa Mining Co., Ltd in 1919.
The building became vacant around 1996, and it was considered to be demolished at one point.
However, due to the conservation movement, Kitakyushu City bought the building in 2002 and repaired. It has been used as the comunity hall.
