Former Fukami Hydroelectric Power Station of Kyushu Paper Corporation (Yatsushiro City)

This building was built in 1921 as a power station for Kyushu Paper Company.
After that, Kyushu Paper changed its name to "Karafuto Kogyo","Oji Paper", then "Jujo Paper", and "West Nippon Paper Co., Ltd." due to the merger.
In 1988, West Nippon Paper was dissolved and the power plant was no longer used.
Subsequently, in 2008, the damaged roof was repaired by Nippon Paper Industries, which manages the facility.
But the building was washed away when the Kuma River overflowed during a heavy rainstorm in July 2020. The nearby Fukami Bridge was also washed away.

The card includes not only the building but also the masonry foundation.
