Great Guild Hall (Tallinn)

This building is the Great Guild Hall, constructed in 1410. While there were several guilds in Tallinn, the Great Guild held the highest status among them, and the mayor and city council were elected from among its members.
The hall was used for the Great Guild’s meetings, parties, and weddings and other events.
The Great Guild continued its activities until guilds were abolished in Estonia in 1920. Since 1952, it has served as the Estonian History Museum.
