Hagia Sophia (Thessaloniki)

The Hagia Sophia is Thessaloniki's largest Greek Orthodox church. The church was built around the 8th century. Since the church was built during the Iconoclastic era, it seems that only mosaics such as crosses were initially drawn, but other mosaics were added in the 9th and 12th centuries.
It was used as a mosque during the Ottoman rule, and the mosaics in the church were concealed with plaster. (Currently, the plaster has been removed.)
The church is included in the World Heritage Site "The Early Christian and Byzantine Buildings of Thessaloniki" designated in 1988.

In this pop-up card, the tower on the left side is supported by attaching another part that cut out from the ground part.
