Sydney Observatory (Sydney)

The Sydney Observatory was built in 1857-59. (Some sources says it was completed in 1858.)
It was converted to a museum in 1982 when air pollution and increased city lights made observations difficult.
The observatory was not only for astronomical observations, but also for telling the time. A yellow time ball attached to the top of the tower was raised and dropped to tell the time. Even today this is done at 13:00.
