Sacred Heart Church (Levka, Ovalau Island)

Leveka is a town on the Fijian island of Ovalau. The town was founded in the early 19th century by European settlers.
The Sacred Heart (Catholic) Church was built in 1860s.

Seru Epenisa Cakobau, the king, established the modern nation state of Fiji in 1871. But Fiji was annexed as a British colony in 1874, and Levuka was the capital until 1882 when the administration was moved to Suva.

This town was designated a World Heritage Site in 2013 as "Levuka Historical Port Town".
