Church of Our Lady of Las Mercedes (Santo Domingo)

One of the oldest churches in Santo Domingo. It seems that the construction began in 1527 and was completed in 1555, but I have seen other descriptions with different years, so I am not sure exactly.
The bell tower was added in the 17th century.
In its hundreds of years of history, the church has sometimes been damaged by earthquakes, hurricanes, pirate invasions, and wars, but it has been repaired and is still in use today.
