Former Taura Town Office (Yokosuka City)

This building was built in 1926 as the Taura Town Office. The previous town office was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, so a new building was constructed.
Taura Town merged with Yokosuka City in 1933, and this building was used as the Taura Branch of Yokosuka City Office until 1985.
After that, it was used as a place to provide after-school childcare, but the building has not been used since it was vacated in 2008.
It appears that there are no plans to use the building in the future.
