Former the Bunker of Okinawa-kita Airfield, Japanese Army (Yomitan Village, Nakagami County)
This bunker was built in 1944 in Okinawa North Airfield. At that time, there were more than ten bunkers.
U.S. troops landed and took over the airfield in 1945, and used it to attack mainland Japan.
The land was returned from the U.S. military in 2006. It was remaining the three bunkers there. In 2009, Yomitan Village decided to keep one of the bunkers as a historic site.
