Santa Catalina Arch (Antigua Guatemala)



Santa Catalina Arch was built in 1694. It was originally built for nuns. They could go to the school on the other side of the street without meeting the other people. This arch was abandoned after the 1773 earthquake, but it was restored in the 1890's and a clock was set up at that time. Now it is also called clock tower.
