There are wooden churches built in 18th and 19th centuries in the Chiloe Islands in southern Chile. These churches were built by the Jesuits.
The architectural style of churches is "Chiroe style" that is a mix of European and local styles.
Currently, 16 churches are registered as World Heritage Sites.
One of them, the Church of San Juan (Church of San Juan Bautista de San Juan de Coquihuil) is in Dalcahue, Chiloe Island. The current building was completed around 1887.
