Former Akita Prefectural Public Hall (former location : Akita City)

Akita Prefecture decided to build a public hall to commemorate the wedding of the Crown Prince (later Emperor Taisho) in 1900.
It is believed that prefectural engineer Naoaki Yamaguchi was in charge of the design, with Tokuma Katayama serving as design advisor.
The building was completed in 1904.
In 1918, however, the building caught fire while being painted and was destroyed by fire.
The Akita Memorial Hall was under construction next door, but that building not burn fortunately.
