"Hyokei-kan", Tokyo National Museum (Taito Ward)

This building was constructed in commemoration of the marriage of Prince Yoshihito (the Emperor Taisho). The construction started in 1901 and was completed in 1908. The building was managed by the Imperial Museum.
In 1947, the museum was renamed "National Museum" and then became "Tokyo National Museum" five years later.
The Hyokei-kan Hall was designated as an important cultural property in 1978.
