This building was built in 1909 at Ishibiki, Kanazawa City. Kaikosha was an army officer's club.
After World War II, it was used as a national then prefectural institution; in 1968, the auditorium in the rear was demolished. Then the main building was towed slightly.
In 2017, it was relocated for using as the National Craft Museum. The lost parts were rebuilt. (ex. auditorium)
The Craft Museum opened in October 2020.
