At first, this church building was built at another place "Madara-shima Island" in (maybe) 1881. The name of the church was Madara-shima Catholic Church.
In 1927, it was decided rebuilding Himosashi church in Nagasaki. So, the old chapel of Himosasi church was move to Madara-shima. Then the old Madara-shima church was move to Yobuko in 1928.
