Christ Church, Windhoek  (Windhoek)



The Christ Church, Windhoek is a Lutheran church located in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. The foundation stone was laid in 1907, and construction was completed in 1910.
It was designed by a German named Gottlieb Redecker (1871-1945). His father came to Southwest Africa in 1867, and Gottlieb was born here. He lost his mother when he was 11 years old and went to Germany to study engineering. After he returned to South West Africa, he worked as an architect, designing buildings such as Parliament House, Christ Church.
