The Ikeda Leaf Tobacco Monopoly Office was established in 1898 under the Leaf Tobacco Monopoly Act of 1896.
It began producing leaf tobacco in 1905.
The monopoly was renamed the Ikeda branch of the Monopoly Bureau in 1909.
When the factory was rebuilt in 1920, the office on this pop-up card was probably also built, but the exact year could not be determined.
Then the office was moved to another location in 1965, so the old office was demolished in 1968.
The factory was also renewd in 1970 and continued producing tobacco, but the factory closed in 1990.
