Pop-up Cards: Buildings in Sydney

The main website has been updated. It has been five weeks since the last update.
This time, the models of the pop-up cards were selected from buildings in Sydney, Australia.

The map is of the central district of Sydney, and I selected historical buildings there. (I couldn’t put all historical buildings on the map.) I was not sure which buildings to make, this time I chose buildings (1) through (3) as the pop-up cards.

(1) Sydney Observatory

It stands on a hill near Sydney Harbor. I was surprised to see an observatory in such an urban area. However, it was converted to a museum in 1982 because it became difficult to observe due to city lights and air pollution.

(2) Garrison Church

The church on the north side of the observatory is called Holly Trinity Anglican Church, but it is also called Garrison Church because it was used by colonial garrison soldiers.
It was built in 1844.

(3)Former Sydney Customs House

The customs house was built in 1845. The top floor was added in 1900.
This pop-up card was created based on a photo from the late 20th century. Currently, the shape is different from the card because a large eave has been added.
In 1990, the customs house was relocated and the building is now used for a library and commercial facilities.

The pattern for the Sydney Observatory is available for download this time, if you would like to use it.
Other buildings shown in the map above may be made into pop-up cards someday.
