Pop-up Card (Building in Aomori Prefecture)
Pop-up card (Modern Architecture in Japan) has been updated.
Since I have also started making pop-up cards of World Heritage sites, the update interval for this one will be longer, but I will continue this one at my own pace.
This time, I uploaded only one item, the former Aomori City Public Hall in Aomori Prefecture.

The building was demolished in 1996 for road expansion, so it does not exist.
To confirm the shape of the non-existent building, I often check prewar postcards on the Internet, but when I looked up Aomori City Public Hall, I also found another image of the building. Apparently, this one appears to be a prior public hall that existed before the public hall on the pop-up card. I have not yet been able to confirm this, but I found a description that Aomori City Public Hall was built in 1900 to commemorate the wedding of Emperor Taisho (then Crown Prince) (construction was completed the following year).
The old building I saw is probably that.
