Pop-Up Card (Mito City Water Supply Tower)

(I updated the main website, but this time I only posted photos of revised version of pop-up cards I made in the past, so there is no pattern release.)

After visiting Mito City and touring several buildings, I decided to revise the pop-up cards I previously made of Ibaraki Prefecture structures.
The photo shows the pop-up card for the Water Supply Tower for Lowland, Mito City Waterworks, created in 2012.

Back then, I had prioritized fitting everything onto a single sheet of paper. As shown in the diagram, I made the upper and lower sections of the water tower separately on one sheet, then folded and joined them together… that sort of thing.

This time, I’m using separate part.

Since the water tower alone left too much empty space on the sides, I decided to include the flowmeter room on the right as well.

As shown in the photo, folded and glued it to create a sort of “floor” for the upper half of the tower.

Folded the leg part, attached it to the ground section, and glued them to the upper “floor” part.

This is the card I made that way.

The actual water tower.

Since the main website deletes photos of older versions, I wrote this on my blog as a record.

One more thing: I also remade the pop-up card of the former Ibaraki Prefectural Office, so please check the main website.

The pattern of the former Ibaraki Prefectural Office has many windows, it seems tedious to cut. Also, I thought using separate parts like the water tower might not be very popular, so I didn’t upload patterns for either this time.
