Florian Gadenne’s Art Exhibition
I visited “Otari-Tsugura", the Otari Village Complex in Otari Village, Nagano Prefecture.
This is the building.
I came to see the “Florian Gadenne’s Art Exhibition” being held here.
The “NAGANO ORGANIC AIR 2024” project, in which artists stay and work in various areas of Nagano Prefecture in fiscal 2024, has been implemented in Otari Village, Oshika Village, Anan Town, and other locations. (“AIR" stands for artist in residence.)
Mr. Florian Gadenne from France stayed in Otari Village and created works using the landscape of Otari and the animals and insects that live there as motifs.
The exhibition will be held from January 18 to February 23, 2025, and I realized that the exhibition was about to end. So I rushed to see the exhibition.
When I entered the entrance, I found the title of the exhibition, the works, and explanations posted in the lobby.
Although not shown in this photo, there was a long desk in front of the wall where materials were placed.
These are the materials I received and the postcards I purchased later.
I thought the exhibition was displayed in one room of the building, but it was displayed in the hallway, on the wall of the stairway, and even in the elevator.
The large painting in the center is a work called “Beech Biotope,” which also became a postcard.
All of the works on display were painted with sumi ink, gouache, and watercolor.
The colors of the watercolors were beautiful.
The parking lot had been cleared of snow, but the surrounding area was covered with snow.
