Pop-up card (the buildings in Gunma Prefecture)

2018-03-14

The pop-up card of modern architecture in Japan has been updated.
This time, the models are buildings in Gunma Prefecture, both of which are no longer in existence.

The photo shows former the building of Isesaki Church, United Church of Christ in Japan. This church was partially destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake and was demolished the following year. A new church building is currently under construction.

The second photo is former the Factory of Jomo Twisting Thread Co., Ltd. The factory was sold to Nakajima Aircraft in 1943 and operated as a factory of Fuji Heavy Industries after the World War II. The factory was closed and dismantled in 2001, but part of the wall of the factory has been installed as a monument as “the birthplace of Subaru 360".

You can download a pattern of the Isesaki Church.
